The Surgery Center is a specialized unit for surgical procedures that do not require an overnight
hospital stay. Jefferson Regional Medical Center physicians annually perform more than 9,500
outpatient procedures for patients coming through the Surgery Center. Skilled nurses provide
specialized patient care with the goal to provide service excellence throughout the stay.
Surgery with No Overnight Stay
Jefferson Regional Medical Center physicians may treat patients at the Surgery Center
if the procedure can be performed in a single day with a recovery time of 4 hours or less.
The intent is to complete the procedure, allow recovery from anesthesia, conduct a final
examination, and send the patient home - all within the same day.

Anesthesia services at The Surgery Center include regional anesthesia,
general anesthesia, IV medication with monitoring, and spinal and
epidural anesthesia.

Location and Operating Hours
The Surgery Center is located just beyond the Emergency Department on the left at Jefferson Regional
Medical Center. For patient convenience, reserved parking spaces are available and a security guard
will provide valet parking. The Surgery Center is open for procedures from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Family members or friends accompanying the patient will wait in comfort in the spacious lobby.
