Leukemia

Related Subjects

Leukemia cells are abnormal blood cells that cannot help the body fight infections. They can collect in different areas of the body, causing swelling and infection. People with leukemia are susceptible to infections and fevers. In addition, leukemia patients may experience anemia, causing them to look pale and feel weak and tired. Deficient levels of blood platelets can cause patients to bleed and bruise easily. There are different types of leukemia, and each type may have a classification of adult or childhood leukemia.
