Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic Fibrosis affects the respiratory and digestive systems, as well as the mucus and sweat glands. It is an inherited disease caused by a defective gene.

Thick mucus is formed in the breathing passages in the lungs. This condition makes a person with cystic fibrosis prone to chronic lung infections.
