Mammogram

Related Subjects

A mammogram is a simple and relatively safe X-ray used to study the breast. The test involves passing very low doses of X-ray through the breast. It is one of the most effective methods physicians have for detecting breast diseases, especially breast cancer.

Women ages 40 to 49 should get a mammogram every one to two years. Women age 50 and older should get a mammogram every year. Your personal physician may advise a different schedule if needed, to accomodate your personal and family medical history.
